Bicycle Safety Bicycle Sidewalk Safety Summer vacation is just around the corner! School will be out and once again the streets, sidewalks and parks of Fremont will be teeming with tourists and children. The Town of Fremont would like to offer a friendly reminder to our young folks that this time of increased traffic on our streets and sidewalks is a time for special attention to safety concerns for all. Since all this traffic must share our streets, and especially our sidewalks, the Fremont Town Council asks that we all do our part to make sure these areas are as safe as possible. Recently there have been several citizen complaints about reckless bicycle riding on the downtown sidewalks resulting in frightening near misses of pedestrians and business customers. We’re also noticing black skid marks on our beautiful new sidewalks that come from excessive bike speed and slamming on breaks. We need everyone’s help to make our special town a safe and welcoming place for all and would appreciate your extra attention and consideration for others. Thanks in advance for doing your part!
